Nashville Neighborhood Series: Berry Hill

If you’ve looked into buying a home in Nashville, chances are you’ve at least heard of the Berry Hill area. Believe it or not, this small pocket of Nashville is actually considered its own city. Like all of the other Nashville neighborhoods we’ve featured, Berry Hill has its own distinct personality.

Here are few fast facts about Berry Hill:

    • It’s really small – By small, we mean tiny. Berry Hill is actually less than one square mile in size and has around 600 residents!
    • Business is big – Despite it’s size, Berry Hill is loaded up with businesses. There are over 400 businesses in the area, most of them local. According to the city’s website, the city goes from a population of less than 600 (residents) to about 6,500 during the day thanks to the businesses there.
    • It’s eclectic – Berry Hill has a solid reputation for being fun, funky and diverse. The area is full of brightly colored bungalows and interesting speciality stores. There are approximately 40 recording studios and a lot of businesses that cater to artists and crafters.
    • It’s tough to get in – With such a small size, there aren’t as many living options in Berry Hill as other neighborhoods in Nashville. There are several older houses, some of which have been divided into rental units, some apartments, and few new construction homes.
