Nashville - To Alarm, or Not to Alarm. Is that really a question?
The reason that I headed this posting in this way is that we’ve had some of our clients say that they would go ahead and have an alarm installed to minimize the risk of home break-in or home invasion, but they just wouldn’t use it.
As one of my sisters–in--law is fond of saying when obviously intelligent people make a silly remark, “Duh?”
Why would you not use an alarm if one is installed, and better yet---at the low cost of entry available through most TV and Radio offers, and the low cost of monitoring, and the peace of mind you can gain from doing so, why would you not install an alarm, anyway?
Home Invasions and home robberies are on the rise. The best guess is that a break in or a robbery has occurred to someone within your chain of acquaintances, or to someone in your nashville neighborhood. You’re moving into a new neighborhood.
“Oh, we live in a “good” neighborhood. We don’t have to worry about being robbed.” Let’s see, where is exactly the logic in that statement? If you live in a “good” neighborhood, you are a perfect target. In addition, if you are one of America’s active two income families that means that you are gone from probably about 8AM until about 5:30 or 6. That’s just about enough time for a crew to back up to your garage door, pick off all the valuables, load them out through your garage into a van and hit the road. Your valuables are sold for the local flea market before you even get home and find them missing.
“Oh, I’m only going to the store for a minute. I don’t want to worry about setting the alarm.” Statistics tell us that a break-in or a smash-n-dash can occur in less than two minutes. In those two minutes, you lose your HDTV, your stereo, all the computers in the house, any artwork that looks as though it might be able to be sold. Especially interesting are IPods, guns, drugs, and collectibles…they sell exceptionally well, and bring top dollar for thieves.
Don’t be a dolt. Use your alarm. It’s there for a reason. And if you don’t have one, get one. There are several credible Nashville Alarm Companies that you should speak with. You’ll also save up to 20% on your homeowner’s insurance by installing one. Be sure and advise your insurance company that you have installed an alarm.
